About
WAnimate was formed in 2006 by a group of animators who felt that the small but growing Western Australian animation industry required a representative body.
WAnimate aims to provide a central point of connection for animators based in Western Australia. Through WAnimate, animators can find support and access a wide range of skills development. We aim to link animators to those employing or funding animators and direct them to (as well as provide) animation training and seminars, of all specialisations.
WAnimate is an industry association, aimed at encouraging and developing the animation, entertainment and education business. It is a focal point for the growing number of professional animators and producers in Western Australia. We are supported by ScreenWest and Lotterywest.

Chair: Craig Wilson
Craig has been in the animation and cross media content industry since 2003, co-founding digital content company Crewjo Entertainment in 2004. Craig takes the lead role in forging international partnerships for their in house created content. Currently Crewjo has partnered with companies in the UK, Canada, Indonesia and USA distributing interactive digital content to India,The Middle East, Hong Kong and Indonesia. Locally Craig is working with ABC3, developing their own children’s sketch comedy show.
Vice Chair: Tanya Beeson
Tanya has been Wanimate Chair since 2008 taking over from Graeme Watson 2006-7, and before him Graeme Hunt 2006. She has been involved in Animation in WA since the first CADSA program through FTI. Tanya stepped through the first year of the CADSA Program to become its co-ordinator and then the training officer of animation in subsequent years through the FTI. Tanya is a staunch advocate and often acts as a voice for upcoming animators. Her Position at FTI allowed Tanya to manage and direct several corporate animations for Landcorp and Rio Tinto through FTIs production arm Excalibur Productions. Now Tanya splits time between animation training for Games at West Coast Institute for Training and Junglecat Films, her own independent animation production company

Alex is a recent design graduate from Curtin University in Perth Western Australia. I specialise in 3D modeling and graphic design. Bachelor of Arts (Design) (Honours), Curtin University, First Class Honours. Bachelor of Arts (Multimedia Design), Curtin University, Best Graduate Award Vice Chancellor’s List: Top 1% of Undergraduates.

Ursula has been the Treasurer of WAnimate since 2010 and joining the committee the same year. She is currently a manager at Last Pixel, 3D visualization studio.

Evangeline comes from a computer science and arts background (BCM (Hons) UWA), and is also a graduate of the FTI’s Diploma of Screen & Media program. She is currently an independent writer, producer, and illustrator, and company director of the production company Red Alpha.
Committee Member: Lindsay Fleay
Lindsay began his career as an independent stop motion animator in Perth in the late 80′s. He migrated to high end 3D animation and vfx, working for over 15 years first in advertising and then high end film production, including The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, and Happy Feet. He has applied his production and film layout experience in recent years to the game industry in Perth, specialising in virtual world building and layout.
