The Tom Lubin Award

WAnimate presents an annual award for contribution to the WA animation industry because we want to:

  • Sing the praises of Western Australian Animation practitioners,
  • Celebrate excellence, brilliance and talent in animation in WA
  • Raise the profile of animation in the state

To honour the contribution of Tom Lubin in the development of animation in WA, it is known as the Tom Lubin award (or Loobie!)

The award can be for:

  • a piece of animation,
  • animation writing,
  • animation design,
  • an animation studio,
  • an animation business idea,
  • an animator with lots of great work,
  • an animation teacher
  • an animated series
and so on.... you get the idea

It's an award for someone (or group of people) who deserve recognition for something they have done within the animation industry and culture in WA.

YOU can nominate someone for this award (if you are a Wanimate member.) And please do! Send an email to wanimate at vyvyan dot net saying who should get the award and why. Please do not nominate someone who is currently on the Wanimate committee.

The Wanimate committee will pick a recipient from the nominations and the winner(s) will be presented with a specially designed trophy and hopefully get their pictures in the papers or at least a few industry newsletters.
