WAnimate Committee

Chair: Tanya Beeson

Tanya has been Wanimate Chair since 2008 taking over from Graeme Watson 2006-7, and before him Graeme Hunt 2006. She has been involved in Animation in WA since the first CADSA program through FTI. Tanya stepped through the first year of the CADSA Program to become its co-ordinator and then the training officer of animation in subsequent years through the FTI. Tanya is a staunch advocate and often acts as a voice for upcoming animators. Her Position at FTI allowed Tanya to manage and direct several corporate animations for Landcorp and Rio Tinto through FTIs production arm Excalibur Productions. Now Tanya splits time between animation training for Games at West Coast Institute for Training and Junglecat Films, her own independant animation production company

Vice Chair: Aaron Kennedy

Aaron began his career in the creative industry as a photographer. He worked in that industry for several years before going back to University to Study for the BA in Multimedia design. After Graduation Aaron started Raging Pixel Productions and decided that he was a far better producer than animator. As a producer he has successfully created a number of animation and cross media productions.


Secretary: Evangeline Than

Evangeline is the new Secretary of WAnimate for 2010. Evangeline comes from a computer science and arts background, and is also a graduate of FTI's Diploma of Screen & Media program, specialising in animation. She is currently an animator, co-producer, and co-writer at Junglecat Films for the animated series Schoolies.

Treasurer: Lisa Evans

Lisa has been the Treasurer of WAnimate since 2007, and a committee member since 2006. She has worked in 3D animation in Perth for the past seven years, in areas such as games, film and visualisation. Her area of specialty lies in the technical side of 3D computer graphics, as she has a background in physics and is skilled in several scripting languages. She has also helped to train upcoming animators through the FTI, Central Institute of Training and West Coast Institute of Training.

Committee Member: Gareth Lockett

Gareth has been part of the WAnimate committee since late 2009. He has been involved in many areas of the West Australian animation industry for over a decade.

Committee Member: Lindsay Fleay

Lindsay began his career as an independent stop motion animator in Perth in the late 80's. He migrated to high end 3D animation and vfx, working for over 15 years first in advertising and then high end film production, including The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, and Happy Feet. He has applied his production and film layout experience in recent years to the game industry in Perth, specialising in virtual world building and layout.
